The Task Force for Acceleration of Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (PRR) Following the Sumatra Disaster continues to distribute social assistance in the form of daily living allowances (jadup). The assistance is intended to support the economy of disaster survivors in Aceh, North Sumatra (Sumut), and West Sumatra (Sumbar).

Based on data from the PRR Task Force as of 27 February, the daily living allowance of Rp 15,000 per person per day has been distributed by the Ministry of Social Affairs to 175,211 survivors across 37 affected districts. The total budget allocated reached Rp 236,534,850,000. The assistance is provided for three months or approximately 90 days.

The breakdown shows that Aceh received Rp 149,463,900,000 for 110,714 survivors across 11 regencies/municipalities. North Sumatra received Rp 69,256,350,000 for 51,301 survivors across 15 regencies/municipalities. Meanwhile, West Sumatra received Rp 17,814,600,000 for 13,196 survivors across 11 regencies/municipalities.

Previously, the Chairman of the Task Force for Acceleration of Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Following the Sumatra Disaster, Tito Karnavian, stated that the government has prepared several assistance schemes for survivors, including housing repairs and living expense financing.

“Housing repair assistance is distributed through the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) with categories of light damage at Rp 15 million, moderate damage at Rp 30 million, and severe damage at Rp 60 million,” said Tito in a written statement on Monday (2/3/2025).

This was conveyed by Tito during a Meeting on Progress of Acceleration of Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Following the Disaster in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra at the Office of the Ministry of Home Affairs in Jakarta on Monday (23/2/2026).

Meanwhile, living expense financing assistance consists of an economic stimulus of Rp 5 million, household goods assistance valued at Rp 3 million for disaster victims, and a daily living allowance of Rp 15,000 per day.

Tito hopes that the assistance can be received quickly by survivors so they are not too burdened during Ramadan. For this reason, he instructed local governments and the Central Statistics Agency to accelerate the data validation process so that aid distribution can proceed and the recovery of survivors’ lives can be gradually carried out.
