Jakarta (ANTARA) - Special Advisor to the Minister (TAM) of Energy and Mineral Resources Satya Hangga Yudha Widya Putra stated that national energy resilience remains intact amid the current global geopolitical uncertainties. “Amid global geopolitical uncertainties and fluctuations in world oil prices triggered by international conflicts, Indonesia continues to demonstrate extraordinary resilience thanks to proactive planning,” he said in his statement in Jakarta on Monday. According to him, through close inter-ministerial coordination, the government has conducted fiscal resilience simulations up to oil prices reaching $100 per barrel, ensuring that energy stocks and price stability for lower and middle-income communities are maintained. Securing supply routes and optimising domestic storage facilities in locations such as Karimun in the Riau Islands (Kepri) are top priorities to prevent the direct impact of international crises from burdening the public, particularly users of subsidised energy like Pertalite and 3 kg LPG. Hangga also continued that as part of the roadmap towards clean energy independence, the dedieselisation programme or conversion of diesel power plants to new renewable energy in 3T regions is a strategic and effective step because its costs are more competitive compared to the challenging logistics of fossil fuel supply. “The government is also continuing to accelerate major targets for solar power development and mineral downstreaming to create greater economic value added domestically,” he said during an inspirational discussion session titled “Bridging Technical Expertise with Essential Soft Skills in Engineering Careers” with the Industrial Engineering Student Association (HMTI) of Andalas University (Unand) online. Hangga emphasised that the government continues to ensure the realisation of infrastructure development such as gas pipeline networks and regasification terminals so that energy distribution is equitable and affordable. “The government continues to strive to ensure that this abundant natural wealth can be transformed into energy that can be enjoyed by all levels of society, from large industries to households in the remotest parts of the archipelago,” he stated. In that discussion session, Hangga also emphasised that Indonesia’s future is not only determined by technical mastery (hard skills), but also by character maturity and national energy resilience. According to him, high intellectual intelligence will be meaningless without the support of proficient soft skills such as empathy, teamwork, and leadership. In professional interactions or student organisations, he continued, the ability to gauge communication strategies or understand others’ feelings becomes key to keeping interactions effective and efficient. Future leaders are expected not only to be smart individual workers, but must be able to become team players who value colleagues’ opinions and are agile in adapting to various dynamic life challenges. “By combining technological advancements and interpersonal skills, the younger generation is expected to remain motivated to guide this energy transition in order to realise a sovereign and sustainable Indonesia,” said Hangga.
