Swedish golfer takes the lead

JAKARTA (JP): Swedish golfer Pernilla Sterner took over the
lead in the Kosaido Ladies Asia Circuit after shooting a 5-under
par-67 for a two-day total of 139 (72 67) in the second round
yesterday.

Overnight leader Asa Gottmo had a disastrous day, ballooning
her score with a 4-over 76 for a 145 (69 76) to finish joint
fifth. Two shots behind the leader for second place was
Malaysia's Lim Swi-ai with a 141. The Philippines' Mary Grace
Estueta was third with a 143 (72 71)

Fifty-two golfers survived yesterday's cut and will go on to
vie for the US$100,000 in cash prizes being contested at the
Pondok Cabe golf and country club in Tangerang, West Java. (rsl)
