PT Pertamina (Persero) has ensured the availability of fuel (BBM) and LPG supplies remains secure along the North Coast Route (Pantura) to anticipate the surge in Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah travel flows.

This measure involves preparing all energy infrastructure, from BBM terminals to public fuel stations (SPBU) operating 24 hours, as well as additional support services.

“We have mapped out congestion-prone points along Pantura. Pertamina has prepared the Motorist Service (Pertamina Delivery Service), ready to deliver packaged BBM directly to vehicles stuck in traffic,” said Vice President (VP) Corporate Communication of PT Pertamina (Persero), Muhammad Baron, in an official statement on Friday (20/3).

Baron revealed that all infrastructure, from BBM terminals to SPBU along critical routes, has been placed on 24-hour standby. This is to anticipate a significant increase in vehicle density on non-toll roads.

He then urged the public to fill their vehicle fuel tanks adequately for comfortable driving.

“We hope the public will use energy wisely, with BBM and LPG according to needs,” he stated.

One SPBU along the Pantura route is SPBU Muri in Tegal, Central Java. Named Muri because it entered the Indonesia Record Museum (Muri) in 2008 for having 107 toilets (31 women’s toilets, 11 men’s toilets, and 40 urinals). Not only that, this SPBU also features a swimming pool, massage chairs, a prayer room, a souvenir centre involving SMEs, and a canteen.

“We also provide clean and affordable accommodation,” said SPBU Muri Manager Sinta Fitria.

Not only at SPBU, Pertamina also has several rest areas infused with local culture in the Pantura region. One of them is Danau Cinta Eco Resort, nicknamed Bali van Sunda, located in Walahar Energy Self-Reliant Village, Karawang, West Java.

“This lake was originally dead and neglected,” said Danau Cinta Eco Resort Manager, Enjang Ramdani.

Enjang said Pertamina transformed the site into a creative tourism destination and a new economic centre for the Walahar Village community. There, Pertamina turned the previously neglected lake into a venue for renewable energy education (EBT). This programme is part of Pertamina’s environmental, social, and governance (ESG) programme.

Pertamina provides space for assisted partners, which is part of the ESG programme, to sell local products both inside SPBU and rest area premises as well as outside the area.

This step aims to ensure that the Eid travel flow not only serves as a source of human movement but also drives the local economy along the route.
