BPJS Health and the Indonesian Supreme Court have officially established a cooperation agreement to optimise the JKN (National Health Insurance) programme for judicial officials and related personnel within the Supreme Court. The cooperation emphasises updating data for judges and judicial officials, marking their identities as state officials in the JKN database, programme socialisation, implementation of preventive health initiatives, and coordination in JKN member services.

This synergy is strengthened through a cooperation agreement that outlines the operational steps of both institutions, including information exchange between contact persons, utilisation of data system interoperability, and the conduct of educational activities and human resource capacity building. “Through these efforts, we want to ensure protection for every judge and judicial official, facilitate access to services, and provide accurate information regarding the rights and obligations of JKN participants,” said BPJS Health Director General Prihati Pujowaskito on Wednesday, 11 March 2026.

According to Pujo, all mechanisms are implemented whilst upholding principles of transparency, accountability, and personal data protection in accordance with applicable legislation. System integration also allows membership data updates to be processed more quickly, facilitating state officials’ access to health services through the JKN programme.

Pujo added that through collaboration between the two parties, the Supreme Court can obtain more accurate information regarding JKN membership status for judges, civil servants, and their families. Meanwhile, BPJS Health can continue to improve services through regular socialisation, preventive health activities such as health history screening, and ongoing coordination with stakeholders.

“We are optimistic that this synergy can strengthen the management of the JKN programme whilst improving service quality for participants. This cooperation is also expected to serve as an example of collaboration between state institutions in delivering more accessible and sustainable public services,” said Pujo.

Sunarto, Chief Justice of the Republic of Indonesia, stated that the quality of law enforcement depends heavily on the quality of human resources implementing it. Therefore, the health status of judges and judicial officials is an important factor for them to perform their duties optimally. “Judicial officials are required to maintain integrity and professionalism. To achieve this, they must be supported by good health conditions,” said Sunarto.

According to him, the synergy between the Supreme Court and BPJS Health is a strategic step to ensure health protection for judges and judicial officials. The JKN programme serves as a state instrument in providing health protection assurance to every citizen, including judges and their families.

Sunarto also appreciated the marking of judges’ identities as state officials in the JKN programme database. According to him, this is an initial step to ensure judges’ membership administration is recorded more accurately whilst facilitating the management of health service data.

“Through this synergy, we hope to create administrative certainty, accuracy in membership data, and support for health protection for judges and judicial officials whilst ensuring that the rights and obligations of participants are managed properly in accordance with applicable regulations,” said Sunarto.
