REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA - The performance of PT Bank Syariah Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BSI) shows solid results at the beginning of 2026. The company’s steps to accelerate digitalisation, expand gold business services, strengthen the consumer segment, and focus on supporting government programmes in productive sectors and UMKM have proven effective in maintaining the positive and sustainable growth trend of the company’s performance.

BSI continues to strengthen support for the government’s Astacita programme, particularly in channelling retail segment financing to accelerate national economic growth. BSI provides support for the MBG ecosystem through the provision of SPPG, micro, SME, and KUR Syariah financing. These steps have proven effective, as reflected in BSI’s solid financial ratios and good intermediation function between third-party funds and financing.

Overall, BSI’s performance (unaudited) as of February 2026 shows solid growth in various key indicators. Financing grew 14.32% to Rp323 trillion year-on-year, with the largest contribution coming from the consumer segment, particularly the gold business.

In addition, financing growth was also strengthened by contributions from retail financing, including UMKM, reaching Rp52.43 trillion, up 6.10% year-on-year. The company is committed to supporting UMKM to level up, from mentoring, training, financing, business matching, to providing BSI UMKM Centre services.

Financing growth was also supported by the company’s strategy in strengthening differentiation through the bullion bank business, which is one of BSI’s strengths. Since obtaining the bullion bank licence, BSI’s gold business has shown significant growth and become one of the main drivers of the company’s performance.

This performance is also strengthened by the increase in gold management which has reached around 22.5 tonnes and a customer base that continues to grow to 23 million in the last four years.

From the profitability side, BSI also recorded a profit of Rp1.36 trillion, growing around 17% year-on-year, continuing the sustainable growth trend in recent years.

On the other hand, fee-based income (FBI) increased to Rp1.47 trillion, or grew 30% year-on-year. The main contributor to FBI growth came from gold banking services which recorded the highest surge of 136.55% to Rp463 billion.

FBI performance was also supported by treasury business and e-channel services, reflecting the effectiveness of BSI’s digitalisation and service diversification strategy. As of February 2026, the number of BYOND by BSI superapp users reached 6.3 million with 125.4 million transactions.

From the intermediation side, Third-Party Funds (DPK) grew 14.76% year-on-year to Rp366 trillion. This growth was driven by an increase in savings of 16.06% year-on-year to Rp154 trillion, reflecting the increasing public trust in sharia banking services.

The company’s liquidity remains maintained with a Financing to Deposit Ratio (FDR) at 88.20%. Meanwhile, the contribution of fee-based income to total income has also increased, as reflected in the rise of the fee-based ratio to 24.59% annually.

This performance affirms the success of BSI’s strategy in strengthening a more balanced income structure between margins and fees, while increasing business resilience amid financial industry dynamics. The company is optimistic about maintaining healthy and sustainable growth throughout 2026, supported by strengthening the sharia ecosystem, digital transformation, and gold business development as one of the main growth pillars.

BSI Supports Government Astacita Programme

In addition to bullion bank and SAL fund placement, BSI also contributes to the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme through the provision of 1520 virtual account services for BGN Partners and financing for MBG SPPG kitchen construction reaching Rp194.50 billion for 145 kitchens. BSI also supports the government’s aspiration to realise around 80,000 KDMP cooperatives.

In addition, from the beginning of the year to February 2026 (year-to-date), BSI has channelled KUR financing of Rp1.65 trillion. BSI also supports the 3 Million Houses FLPP Programme (subsidised housing) year-to-date February 2026 amounting to Rp94.82 billion for 582 housing units and KPP channelling year-to-date February 2026 amounting to Rp259 billion.
