Supported by Gulf State, US and Israel Accused of Planning to Occupy One of Iran's Islands
Tehran – Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf stated that the United States and Israel are planning to occupy one of his country’s islands. He claimed this plan is supported by one of the states in the region.
“Based on several pieces of data, Iran’s enemies, with the support of one of the states in the region, are preparing an operation to occupy one of Iran’s islands,” said Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf in a post on the US company’s social media platform X.
However, he did not name the regional state in question.
Qalibaf said that all enemy movements are being monitored by Iran’s armed forces.
“If they take any step, the entire vital infrastructure of that regional state will become a target without limits through relentless attacks,” he threatened.
The United States and Israel have conducted airstrikes against Iran since 28 February, which so far have killed more than 1,340 people. This number includes the Supreme Leader at the time, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Iran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel as well as Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf states hosting US military assets, causing casualties and damage to infrastructure as well as disrupting global markets and aviation.
