Supadio Airport AVSEC Staff Member Dismissed Following Smuggling Case
We have taken firm action against one outsourced staff member involved in a smuggling case uncovered by the East Kalimantan Police. The decisive measure is termination of employment via repatriation to the original agency on 16 April 2026. Supadio International Airport management in West Kalimantan has affirmed its commitment to maintaining a clean and professional work environment following allegations of an Aviation Security (AVSEC) staff member’s involvement in a smuggling case in 2026. Maya Damayanti, General Manager of PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia’s Supadio International Airport, said in Sungai Raya on Saturday that the company had taken decisive action by terminating the employment of the outsourced staff member involved. ‘We have taken firm action against one outsourced staff member involved in a smuggling case uncovered by the East Kalimantan Police. The decisive measure is termination of employment via repatriation to the original agency on 16 April 2026,’ Maya said. She stressed that management fully supports the investigation conducted by the East Kalimantan Police and has handed over case handling to law enforcement authorities. According to Maya, preliminary investigations confirmed no other personnel at Supadio Airport, whether permanent employees or outsourced staff, were involved. ‘Following the investigation, it has been confirmed that no other employees at Supadio Airport were involved in the case,’ she added. Supadio Airport management also stated it will not tolerate any legal violations that could compromise the safety and public trust in air transport services. ‘We deeply regret this incident. We also thank the police and local government for their continuous support in creating a clean, professional, safe, and comfortable environment at Supadio Airport,’ Maya explained.
