The budget will be allocated to various disaster-affected sectors, ranging from housing and infrastructure to schools, houses of worship, economic hubs, and agriculture.

He said in Jakarta on Wednesday that the Ministry of Public Works had proposed around Rp70 trillion for permanent infrastructure repairs.

This allocation covers the reconstruction of bridges, roads, and public facilities, as well as the restoration of river systems damaged by floods and landslides that hit three provinces of Sumatra in late November 2025.

When divided over a three-year period, the average annual budget spending for the public works sector specifically reaches around Rp20 trillion.

In addition to road infrastructure, the education sector has been prioritized in the efforts, with repair requests submitted for more than 4,000 damaged schools.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs has also proposed a budget for the rehabilitation of houses of worship and Islamic boarding schools in affected areas.

Furthermore, the government is also focusing on productive sectors, with the Ministry of Agriculture requesting approximately Rp3 trillion to repair rice fields. The maritime and fisheries sector, along with the repair of traditional markets, is also included in the budget plan.

All proposals from ministries, agencies, and district and city governments will be integrated by the Ministry of National Development Planning into a master plan, targeted for completion by April 1.

The document serves as a requirement for the Ministry of Finance to release funds for the reconstruction and rehabilitation process.

Karnavian emphasized that the master plan must be drafted in detail to avoid budget overlaps between agencies, adding that the Minister of Finance will only fund programs officially included in the document.

To this end, he urged governments of affected regions to immediately provide the data of residents set to receive permanent housing assistance.
