Palu (ANTARA) - The Deputy Governor of Central Sulawesi, Reny A Lamadjido, has ensured that the Palu Hajj Transit Dormitory is ready to welcome prospective Hajj pilgrims (JCH) from the region for the 2026 Hajj season. “We ensure everything is ready and the pilgrims are well served,” she said during her inspection of the Palu Hajj Transit Dormitory in Palu on Wednesday. She explained that the inspection was conducted to confirm that all facilities and services for prospective Hajj pilgrims from Central Sulawesi are ready for use ahead of the 2026 Hajj season. On that occasion, she reviewed various supporting facilities, from the pilgrims’ rooms, canteen, kitchen, to the bus fleet that will be used for pilgrim mobilisation. She emphasised that the Central Sulawesi Provincial Government is committed to ensuring the comfort and smooth departure process for all prospective pilgrims from the area. The Head of the Central Sulawesi Hajj and Umrah Regional Office, Muchlis Aseng, stated that for this year’s Hajj season, prospective pilgrims from Central Sulawesi are divided into five flight groups (kloter), namely Kloter 9-BPN to Kloter 13-BPN. Kloter 9 is scheduled to enter the Hajj Dormitory on 7 May and depart for the Balikpapan Embarkation on 8 May. “Kloter 13 will later join some pilgrims from East Kalimantan,” he said. He mentioned that the Palu Hajj Transit Dormitory can accommodate around 400 people or enough for one kloter of about 360 individuals. In addition, there are around 351 elderly prospective pilgrims or about 20 percent of the total pilgrims, with the oldest prospective pilgrim aged 93 years from the city of Palu.
