Sultan Hotel Area to be Revamped and Integrated with Public Transportation
The Pusat Pengelolaan Komplek Gelora Bung Karno (PPKGBK) will redevelop the Blok 15 GBK area, where the Sultan Hotel is located.
PPKGBK’s Director General, Rakhmadi Afif Kusumo, stated that PPKGBK is committed to restoring Blok 15 as a green, modern, well-organised, productive public area, more integrated with transportation access.
Additionally, PPKGBK aims to provide optimal benefits to the entire community while recovering the state’s rights over royalties that have remained unpaid for decades.
“We will carry out the eviction execution process by considering all aspects, including the sustainability of the fate of employees and vendors who have relied on Blok 15 for their livelihood,” he said, quoted on Tuesday (5 May 2026).
Furthermore, Rakhmadi explained that the state is present not to kill businesses, but to reorganise this asset so that its benefits can be felt inclusively by the public in accordance with the constitutional mandate.
To that end, PPKGBK has provided a Service Post for parties affected by the Sultan Hotel eviction.
The Service Post represents the government’s commitment to continue embracing all affected parties while ensuring their future under legitimate state management.
He also assured that the execution of the Sultan Hotel area will uphold humanitarian values.
Meanwhile, the Central Jakarta District Court (PN Jakpus) has granted the request for the execution of the Sultan Hotel in Central Jakarta.
The legal representative for the Minister of State Secretariat and PPKGBK, Kharis Sucipto, said that the determination for the implementation of the Blok 15 eviction execution was issued on Thursday (30 April 2026) by the Chief Judge of the Central Jakarta District Court, Dr. Husnul Khotimah, S.H.
With this determination in place, the Ministry of State Secretariat (Kemensetneg) now has full legitimacy to immediately carry out the execution in accordance with the Central Jakarta District Court’s Civil Court Decision No. 208/Pdt.G/2025/PN Jkt.Pst, aimed at saving state assets.
“The Central Jakarta District Court assesses that the request for the implementation of the eviction execution is lawful, and therefore issues a Determination for the implementation of the eviction execution. This determination serves as the perfect legal basis for Kemensetneg and PPKGBK to vacate the land and building (former Sultan Hotel),” said Kharis.
Kharis emphasised that the government’s legal position is now very strong and unaffected by other administrative legal efforts.
The execution process will be carried out soon after coordination with all relevant parties.
All execution procedures or stages, from aanmaning to constatering, have been duly completed, leaving only the realisation of the actual execution of Blok 15.
