Two Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) from Sukabumi City, West Java, Rizki Perdana and Muhammad Reza Al-Farez, have arrived in Saudi Arabia and begun work as professional baristas. Both young men are participants in the Bestari (Be Stars International) programme launched by Sukabumi City Government.

The confirmation came after both young workers sent video testimonials expressing their appreciation to the Sukabumi City Government, particularly for the training programme that enhanced their professional competence.

Rizki and Reza also thanked PT Timur Raya Jaya Lestari (TJL) and Akademi Tamansiswa, which guided them in mastering barista skills and English language proficiency before their deployment. “This success is the initial step of Sukabumi City’s grand vision to develop superior human resources with global competitive advantage,” said Sukabumi Mayor Ayep Zaki in a statement on Saturday (28 February 2026).

The NasDem Party Regional Leadership Chair for Sukabumi Regency expressed pride in the achievement of the two young workers from Sukabumi City. According to him, the Bestari programme has proven that young people from Sukabumi possess star-quality attributes at the international level.

“This is not merely worker deployment, but the deployment of skilled workers who have undergone a mature upskilling process,” Ayep Zaki explained.

In line with the Mayor, Sukabumi City’s Head of Manpower Office (Disnaker), Punjul Saepul Hayat, emphasised the importance of collaboration with the private sector in ensuring the programme’s success.

“This achievement is inseparable from the synergy between Disnaker and PT Timur Raya Jaya Lestari, led by Ahmad Faisol as Director. We ensure that every Indonesian migrant worker from Sukabumi City departs with clear protection and through official and professional procedures,” asserted Punjul Saepul Hayat.

The Bestari programme is expected to continue identifying more local talent to fill strategic employment opportunities in various countries, whilst simultaneously improving the welfare of Sukabumi City residents.
