Jakarta — The Capital Investment Management Unit and One-Stop Integrated Service Unit (UP PM-PTSP) of West Jakarta is prepared to transparently prove the legality of licensing at a State Administrative Court (PTUN) hearing concerning the funeral home and crematorium development project in Kalideres.

This commitment came following the West Jakarta city government facing a lawsuit filed by residents who oppose the development.

“Actually, I personally prefer it has reached PTUN because it will be tested by legal experts, right? It’s clear, so there is no mutual accusation of ‘there is foul play’,” said Lamhot Tambunan, Head of UP PM-PTSP West Jakarta, when contacted in Jakarta on Thursday.

According to Lamhot, the judicial route is the most appropriate avenue to prove licensing legality and answer all public allegations.

Consequently, the office welcomed the legal efforts undertaken by residents. “We view this purely from a technical and administrative perspective,” he said.

Lamhot stated that handling the PTUN hearing is the full responsibility of the West Jakarta city government’s legal division and that they have submitted all necessary documents and chronological records.

“We will certainly appear, but yesterday there were no instructions to attend directly. So it was only through the legal team and correspondence,” he said.

The first hearing on residents’ lawsuit regarding the rejection of the Swarga Abadi Funeral Home and Crematorium development project in Kalideres was postponed because the West Jakarta city government failed to attend the proceedings.

Budiman Tandiono, coordinator of residents from Citra Garden 2, stated that the West Jakarta city government had not provided reasons for its non-appearance at the Jakarta PTUN.

“Neither the defendant directly nor its legal representative attended. Therefore, a new summons will be issued to the defendant,” said Budiman when contacted in Jakarta on Wednesday (11 March).

“Today’s hearing was supposed to be a preparatory examination hearing in which the single judge would examine our case files from the power of attorney and lawsuit,” he said.

Due to the defendant’s non-appearance and several administrative evaluation notes from the judicial panel, the hearing was postponed until 31 March 2026.

The judge also requested residents to complete and revise several documents pertaining to power of attorney and the lawsuit.

“On 31 March, the agenda remains the same—preparatory examination. This preparatory examination hearing has a timeframe of 30 days according to State Administrative Court procedure law,” he said.
