Jakarta — The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) recorded that subsidy and compensation spending disbursed amounted to Rp153.1 trillion as of 30 April 2026, equivalent to 34.4 percent of the State Budget and Expenditure (APBN). The realised value comprises subsidy spending of Rp74.9 trillion and compensation spending of Rp78.2 trillion. “Subsidy and compensation spending is to safeguard the purchasing power of the public; we pay according to the requests from PLN and Pertamina,” Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa said at the APBN KiTa May 2026 press conference in Jakarta on Tuesday. The realisation is influenced by fluctuations in Indonesia’s crude price (ICP), depreciation of the rupiah, and advances for fertiliser subsidies, as well as increases in volumes of fuel, LPG, and electricity. As of April 2026, the government maintains the availability of subsidised goods with details: subsidised fuel subsidies reaching 4,704.6 thousand kilolitres (up 8.2 percent) and LPG 3-kilogram cylinders totalling 2,152.8 million kilograms (up 3.7 percent). Then for subsidised electricity reaching 42.9 million customers (up 2.2 percent), subsidised fertiliser amounting to 2.9 million tonnes (up 25.2 percent), and disbursement of Kredit Usaha Rakyat (KUR) to 1.54 million borrowers (up 1.4 percent). In detail, ministry/agency (K/L) spending grew by 57.9 percent or Rp400.5 trillion, while non-K/L spending grew by Rp45.2 trillion to Rp425.5 trillion.
