SUBANG – The government’s commitment to strengthening productive sector cooperatives has continued to demonstrate concrete results. The Upland Subang Farm Producer Cooperative has officially conducted its first export shipment of 3 tonnes of mangosteen to China, building on previous export achievements that have already reached 40 tonnes. This momentum serves as evidence that cooperatives can function as a driver of regional commodity exports.

The export release was conducted directly by Cooperative Minister Ferry Juliantono alongside the Vice Regent of Subang Regency, accompanied by LPDB Cooperative Chief Executive Krisdianto, LPDB Cooperative Business Development Director Afif Thosin Roy Akhmad, LPDB Cooperative General and Legal Director Deva Rachman, representatives from provincial and regency departments, and other stakeholders.

In his remarks, Cooperative Minister Ferry Juliantono stated that this mangosteen export represents the result of sustained guidance beginning with mentoring by the Agricultural Department and Ministry of Agriculture provided to mangosteen farmers in Subang. “Today’s mangosteen export to China totals 3 tonnes, with previous shipments reaching 40 tonnes. This began from guidance to mangosteen farmers by the Agricultural Department and Ministry of Agriculture, which subsequently established the Upland Subang Farm Producer Cooperative. The product is better processed, certified, and subjected to various measures to prepare for entry into international markets,” said Minister Ferry.

He added that Subang Regency is among the best regions in driving agricultural commodities into export markets. After previously inaugurating coffee exports to Algeria, Subang has now again demonstrated its competitive strength through mangosteen exports to China.

As a concrete form of support, Minister Ferry emphasised the role of the Cooperative Ministry through the LPDB Cooperative as a Public Service Agency (BLU) of the Cooperative Ministry in strengthening the cooperative’s capital. “LPDB will provide first-phase assistance by disbursing Rp4.9 billion that has already been allocated. Going forward, we can push financing up to Rp20 billion for the development of the Upland Subang Farm Producer Cooperative, naturally with appropriate mentoring and incubation,” he stated.

He expressed hope that the export shipment released during Ramadan would bring blessings to the cooperative management, mangosteen farmers, and the broader Subang community. “With the presence of LPDB, insyaAllah it will increasingly help cooperative development,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Vice Regent of Subang Regency expressed appreciation for the support from the Cooperative Ministry and all parties in promoting the agricultural commodity upgrade programme in Subang, enabling entry into international markets. “This has been our aspiration since the upgrade programme was launched. Today serves as proof that the guidance provided has succeeded. Subang mangosteen product standards have now achieved international market penetration. Going forward, we hope support continues so that exports extend not only to China but also to the Middle East and other countries,” he said.

LPDB Cooperative Chief Executive Krisdianto affirmed that the LPDB Cooperative, as a working unit of the Cooperative Ministry, is ready to move forward alongside government in ensuring financing access for productive sector cooperatives, including export commodities with broad economic impact. “LPDB Cooperative is here to strengthen cooperative capitalisation so cooperatives can move up in scale and competitiveness. We are ready to move forward with government in ensuring financing for productive sector cooperatives, including export commodities such as mangosteen which have significant multiplier effects for farmers, business operators, and the regional economy,” said Krisdianto.

He added that financing support is not merely fund disbursement but is accompanied by strengthening governance, business management, and mentoring to enable cooperatives to develop sustainably and professionally.

The export success of the Upland Subang Farm Producer Cooperative serves as a concrete example of how cooperatives can create an integrated business and production ecosystem. Additionally, the adoption of cutting-edge agricultural technology such as drone usage by the Cooperative provides a modern solution that saves time and labour in production. Drone fertilisation enables even distribution, ensuring each plant receives appropriate nutrient quantities and promotes increased harvest productivity.

LPDB Cooperative reaffirms its commitment to continue advancing Indonesian cooperatives to become major players in national and global supply chains, whilst strengthening the role of cooperatives as the foundation of the national economy.
