Students protest housing project

JAKARTA (JP): Fifty students from various universities in
Malang, East Java, went to the House of Representatives yesterday
to protest the conversion of an agricultural school campus into a
real estate area.

The placard-waving students were received by several
legislators of the Armed Forces faction. Through the House
members they demanded that the developer, PT Bangun Karsa
Bentala, stop construction.

The 28-hectare campus in the very fertile Bumi Tanjung area is
considered the lungs of the city. (05)
