Student dies after school brawl

YOGYAKARTA: A student from SMUN IX public high school in
Yogyakarta died on Saturday when he was shot by unidentified
motorists using a slingshot loaded with five-centimeter nails
near his school in Sagan, Gondokusuman, Yogyakarta.

Yogyakarta Police Investigation Directorate head Sr. Comm.
Toto Sunyoto said on Sunday that the attackers shot R. Andhika
Aditya in the chest with a slingshot loaded with the nail.

Andhika died in Panti Rapih Hospital soon after the incident.

The police suspected the motorists were students from a rival
high school.

Toto said that the victim was a random target of a student
brawl, as earlier the police disbursed some 50 students from two
high schools who were involved in a gang fight, shortly before
the slingshot attack. --JP
