BOGOR – Street vendors (PKL) in Taman Heulang have responded to the Bogor City Government’s (Pemkot) plan to redevelop the area.

One of the PKL, Tono (40), welcomed the redevelopment plan by Pemkot Bogor.

According to him, the initiative could make the Taman Heulang area tidier and more comfortable for both vendors and buyers.

Nevertheless, Tono provided several suggestions to Pemkot Bogor, particularly regarding the provision of waste bins and parking areas.

He assessed that the lack of waste bins makes the PKL area less comfortable.

In addition, he proposed that the parking area be separated from the trading location.

Tono added that so far, waste from his selling area is collected first before being disposed of in the available bins within Taman Heulang.

Another PKL, Muhamad Julaeni (48), also approved the redevelopment plan, with the condition that the vendors are still allowed to trade.

“For the redevelopment, to make it better, to make the vendors better, that’s fine, just like that. But if it means eliminating the vendors, don’t do that,” said Julaeni.

“Usually for selling, it’s until 10 o’clock. After 10, it gets quiet, right? We leave around 10. The patrols come, so we scatter (PKL),” he said.

Meanwhile, Bogor Mayor Dedie A Rachim revealed that his side is preparing the redevelopment of Taman Heulang into a Culinary Plaza.

“Taman Heulang is being prepared as what we call a Culinary Plaza. So not everything is allowed, as part of the redevelopment process. The main point is that they (PKL) don’t need to play hide and seek; we’ll make it official but orderly, disciplined, following the rules we’ve set,” Dedie stated in Suryakencana on Monday (6/4/2026).
