The intention of Senior Commissioner Alfon Leomau to file a
lawsuit against former national police chief Bimantoro seems to
have gained support from the current National Police chief, Da'i
Bachtiar.

What the public truly expects is that the solving of internal
problems is not a case of vengeance against Bimantoro, but is
focused more on the straightening up of the police's human
resource management.

The procedure of promotion has yet to be executed and proper
attention should be given to "disguised unemployment" in the
National Police Headquarters, as well as numerous regional police
offices, reaching thousands of middle and senior ranking
officers, mostly in the training institutions.

The management of human resources is an essential problem for
the National Police. Once it is taken care of, disparities in the
distribution of work and welfare will disappear. Hence there
would no longer be the problem of lucrative posts, which damages
the police mentality.
