Story of the Owner of Neta V II: The Controversial Affordable Electric Car
DEPOK, KOMPAS.com - Neta is an electric car brand that went bankrupt in its home country. The impact in Indonesia is that its cars are sold cheaply, one of which is like Gregorius’s experience of getting an attractive price for the Neta V II. Greg, as he is called, bought the unit in August 2025, with a 2024 NIK and the price becoming Rp 185 million. “The price is beyond reason. An offer that’s impossible to refuse,” said Gregorius to Kompas.com on Tuesday (7/4/2026). Over nearly eight months of use, he claims his transportation expenses have dropped drastically. “It’s decreased a lot. Previously using a petrol car, now electric is much cheaper,” he said. For daily use, this car is used by Gregorius’s wife to take the children to school with a distance of about 10 km per day. Besides saving costs, he also highlights the more spacious cabin compared to his previous car, the Kia Picanto. According to him, the legroom in the second row is more generous, making it more comfortable for the family. “The kids in the back can still be freer, not as cramped as in my previous car,” said Gregorius. However, there are several shortcomings felt during use. One of them is the character of the rear suspension which is too soft, making it feel uncomfortable on wavy roads. “If it hits speed bumps, it sways back and forth. Especially at high speeds, it’s less comfortable,” said Gregorius.
