Jakarta — The stories of eight women from Egypt have inspired this year’s pre-Eid al-Fitr celebrations. The values of courage, patience, and steadfastness embodied by these historical figures were showcased during a Muslim fashion show held at Ambarrukmo Plaza on Sunday (8 March 2026).

The eight women who served as inspiration include Al-Qibtiyah, Masyitah, Ummu Musa, Miryam, Asiyah, Maryam, Hajar, and Sinai. They are recognised in Islamic history and teachings as figures who demonstrated unwavering faith and the courage to face the challenges of their time.

Ummu Musa, the mother of Prophet Moses, is one such figure whose story is recorded in the Quran. Her steadfastness in facing difficult circumstances has long served as an example for Muslims.

The theme of women’s steadfastness was presented at the Glam Meet Up Festival Elzatta, which featured a Muslim family fashion show ahead of Eid al-Fitr. Beyond the runway presentations, the event included various interactive activities and Islamic discussions exploring the role of women in modern life.

“For Eid 2026, we present Cahaya Keteguhan (Light of Steadfastness), a collection inspired by the steadfastness of influential women in Egypt. Women who stand firm through their times, bringing forth light of change,” said Elzatta M Rizky Idham, Head Designer of Elcorps, quoted from a press release on Tuesday (10 March 2026).

Each series combined modern and elegant design with graceful silhouettes, colour palettes ranging from soft to bold tones, and materials from cotton to premium organza. The collection was designed for fathers, mothers, and children.

During the discussion segment, Islamic scholar Ustazah Ghinan Rhinda highlighted the importance of emulating values of patience and steadfastness from women in Islamic history. The discussion also featured public figure Adelia Pasha, who shared perspectives on the dynamics of women’s lives in contemporary times.

The event concluded with a performance by singer Marcell Siahaan, who performed several songs as the evening approached the breaking of the fast. The activity was part of a series of events previously held across several Indonesian cities. Beyond entertainment and fashion presentations, the event served as a space for reflection on women’s steadfastness in Islamic history and its relevance to modern life.
