The Governor of Central Java, Ahmad Luthfi, inaugurated the upgrade and preservation of the Kuwu–Galeh and Galeh–Ngrampal road sections in Sragen Regency on Wednesday, 4 March 2026. He said improving road infrastructure is a priority for the provincial government as it enhances interregional connectivity and local economic growth. The Kuwu–Galeh section has a contracted value of Rp8.509 billion and a length of 0.557 kilometres, including concrete pavement, widening and two-layer asphalt pavement, drainage systems, and road markings. The Galeh–Ngrampal preservation covers 1.613 kilometres with a contract value of Rp11.991 billion, including concrete pavement, road widening, asphalt overlay and accompanying road facilities. These routes are strategic as they connect Gesi and Tanon in Sragen with Kradenan in Grobogan, passing through an agricultural belt with rice, maize, and sugarcane as main commodities. The Galeh–Ngrampal route also provides access to the Sragen Timur Toll Exit in Pungkruk, expected to facilitate the distribution of farmers’ produce. A Sragen resident, Joko Mulyono, welcomed the project, saying the road improvements have long been awaited and that the road now runs as smoothly as a national road. Sragen Regent Sigit Pamungkas expressed gratitude for the province’s prioritisation of infrastructure and noted that Sragen Regency is allocating more than Rp80 billion for infrastructure this year.
