SPT Reporting Reaches 10.1 Million, DJP Extends Deadline to 30 April
JAKARTA — The submission of Annual Income Tax Return (SPT PPh) notifications has reached 10.1 million by the end of March 2026. The Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) is still awaiting millions of taxpayers to take advantage of the reporting extension until 30 April 2026. This extension is provided without administrative sanctions to anticipate technical obstacles while allowing room for adaptation to the new system. Director of Education, Services, and Public Relations at DJP, Inge Diana Rismawanti, stated that the total number of SPT submissions reached 10,124,668 as of Monday (30/3/2026) at 24:00 WIB. “As of 30 March 2026 at 24:00 WIB, the number of annual PPh SPT submissions reached 10,124,668,” said Inge in an official statement on Tuesday (31/3/2026). Inge detailed that the majority of submissions came from individual employee taxpayers, totalling 8,877,779 SPTs, followed by individual non-employee taxpayers at 1,039,175 SPTs and corporate taxpayers at 205,897 SPTs, including submissions in rupiah and US dollar denominations. Director General of Taxes Bimo Wijayanto explained that the implementation of the Coretax system makes the reporting process more detailed because taxpayer data is integrated and automatically populated. “Now every piece of data must be confirmed against comparative databases. So it is indeed more detailed and complex,” said Bimo. In addition to SPT submissions, Coretax account activations are also steadily increasing. By the end of March, the number of taxpayers who have activated their accounts reached 17,367,922, consisting of 16,310,079 individual taxpayers, 967,121 corporate taxpayers, 90,495 government agencies, and 227 electronic system-based business operators. DJP notes that there are still millions of taxpayers who have not yet submitted their SPT by the normal deadline of 31 March. Bimo urged the public to promptly utilise the additional time provided by the government. “It has been decided until 30 April, for both submissions and payments,” said Bimo. With the system’s current capacity to accommodate hundreds of thousands of submissions per day, DJP is optimistic that taxpayer compliance rates will continue to rise as they adapt to the Coretax system.
