SPT filings via Coretax reach 40% of target
The Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) of the Ministry of Finance reported that by Wednesday, 4 March 2026, 5.74 million taxpayers had submitted their annual income tax return (Surat Pemberitahuan Tahunan, SPT) for tax year 2025. This figure represents 40.7 percent of the reporting target of 14 million.
Data reporting increased from 4.9 million SPT recorded on 28 February. ‘The progress of reporting the annual income tax return (PPh) for the period up to 04 March 2026 (Tax Year 2025) is recorded at 5,743,722 SPT,’ the DJP said in an official statement on Wednesday, 3 March 2025.
The total comprises 5,741,280 SPT filed via Coretax DJP and 2,442 SPT via Coretax Form. Meanwhile, the number of taxpayers who have activated Coretax DJP accounts has reached 15.1 million.
To report SPT now, taxpayers must already have an activated Coretax account and KO/SE. Previously, the DJP explained that the deadline for activating Coretax accounts and creating the Kode Otorisasi/Sertifikat Elektronik (KO/SE) could be completed before the digital services could be used for reporting.
The deadline for individual personal taxpayers is no later than three months after the end of the tax year, i.e., 31 March. The deadline for corporate taxpayers is 30 April.
Previously, DJP Director General Bimo Wijayanto stated that DJP targets SPT reporting through Coretax at 14 million. In terms of infrastructure readiness, he is optimistic that the Coretax system can help ensure smooth reporting of taxpayers’ SPT, particularly after adding features such as Coretax Form and M Pajak (mobile tax).
To prevent backlog ahead of the deadline, DJP asked all ministries and agencies to help direct SPT reporting for all civil servants (ASN) or employees no later than the end of February.
DJP has also been actively running programmes such as Spektakuler Ngabuburit. Teams from tax service offices and tax volunteers across Indonesia conduct outreach and campaigns, as well as assistance with activation and submission of SPT even outside working hours during ngabuburit or fasting.
‘Additionally, we ensure that every taxpayer facing difficulties is served one by one, accompanied by officers until they can complete and submit their SPT,’ the DJP said in a press conference on 23 February.
