S'pore-Minang hotel management

JAKARTA (JP): PT Bumi Minang Hotel has signed a management and
operation contract with Sedona Hotels Group, a major Singaporean-
based business group, for its hotel in Padang, West Sumatra.

The hotel, currently under construction, will have 167 rooms
and will require a total investment of Rp 42 billion (US$ 18.9
million).

The contract, according to the Antara news agency, was signed
on Tuesday by George A. Hulls of Sedona Hotels Group and Indra
Taspari of PT Bumi Minang Hotel.

Head of West Sumatra tourism service Nazif Lubuk, who
witnessed the signing of the contract, said that his office had
anticipated a marked increase in tourist arrivals in the
province.

He said that 112,500 foreign tourists were expected to visit
West Sumatra this year.(32)
