Bandung Regency Government and the Bandung Regency Forkopimda (Coordinating Forum for Security, Public Order and Provincial Government) held a Special Coordination Meeting (Rakorsus) for Eid al-Fitr 2026 security operations, known as Operation Ketupat 2026, at the Moh Toha Building on Saturday, 7 March 2026.

Attending the Rakorsus were Bandung Regency Regent Dadang Supriatna along with Vice Regent Ali Syakieb, Chair of the Bandung Regency DPRD Reni Rahayu Fauzie, Bandung City Police Chief Kombespol Aldi Subartono, Dandim 0624 Bandung Regency, Danlanud Sulaiman, heads of Pemkab Bandung agencies, Islamic organisations, sub-district heads, police chiefs and military district commanders across Bandung Regency.

Bandung Regency Regent Dadang Supriatna said the Rakorsus aims to formulate comprehensive steps to ensure smooth and secure flow of mudik and balik and the Idul Fitri 2026 celebrations for the people of Bandung Regency.

“We want to ensure the government is present to provide safety and comfort for those who mudik and for those who do not mudik this Eid,” he said.

The regent, commonly known as Kang DS, stressed that the administration is ready to fully support Eid al-Fitr security this year by mobilising Bandung Regency personnel, improving infrastructure, and providing budgetary support.

For the security of mudik this year, the Bandung Regency has installed dozens of CCTV along mudik routes, hundreds of Public Lighting (PJU), and ensured roads are in pristine condition.

Not only that, Kang DS instructed the relevant agencies to stand by ambulances and heavy equipment at high-risk points during the mudik period and the balik of Lebaran 2026.

“We will also provide special incentives for personnel deployed in the field during Operation Ketupat this year. We hope Eid security this year will be safe and smooth,” he said.

Bandung City Police Chief added that they will deploy 1,333 joint personnel to provide safety for mudik travellers and for residents of Bandung Regency who do not undertake Mudik during Lebaran.

The Bandung City Police, Aldi said, has conducted in-depth mapping of all main routes and alternatives used by travelers, including points likely to experience congestion or accidents and to anticipate criminal activity.

“We will establish an Integrated Post located in Nagreg with the name Kampung Kaheman. Previously, the Pospam was in Cileunyi. But after analysis, we have shifted it to Nagreg to be more effective,” Aldi explained.

Nagreg was deliberately chosen as one of the busiest mudik routes connecting Bandung Regency with various areas in West Java and even Central Java.

In addition, 12 Pospam posts will be spread across the entire Bandung Regency. These posts will serve not only as traffic control and security posts but also as rest stops for travellers who are fatigued.

At each location, various supporting facilities have been prepared, including ambulances with on-call medical staff, heavy equipment for emergencies such as landslides, and additional services such as free wifi, musholla, toilets, drinking water and snacks.

“Besides giving safety and comfort to the mudik travellers, we also want to provide safety for residents who do not mudik and to secure the property and vehicles of mudik travellers at their homes,” said the City Police Chief.

The Police Chief even provides free vehicle storage for travellers who wish to deposit their motorcycles or cars at Mako Polresta Bandung and police stations across districts.

“We hope this will be followed up at the sub-district level to form Pam Swakarsa to anticipate theft and other crimes. This is important so mudik travellers feel at ease while leaving their homes,” he explained.

He also urged mudik-goers to ensure their homes are safe, from doors and windows to electricity and vehicles left behind.

“The success of Eid security will be determined by our unity. I hope that communication and collaboration will be crucial so that the implementation runs smoothly,” he said.
