South Sumatra Police Chief, Irjen Sandi Nugroho, officially opened the Performance Audit of the Provincial Police Inspectorate of South Sumatra Police for Phase I of the 2026 Fiscal Year. Irjen Sandi stated that this audit also examines whether the performance of the South Sumatra Police has truly benefited the community.

The audit was held at the Auditorium on the 7th Floor of the Presisi Building of the South Sumatra Police, on Wednesday (8/4/2026). In his directives, Irjen Sandi emphasised that the performance audit is not merely an administrative inspection activity, but a strategic instrument to measure the quality of planning, the effectiveness of organisation, and the readiness of work units in addressing the evolving challenges of police duties.

“This performance audit is not just about checking administration, but serves as a mirror for all of us to see whether our planning, task execution, and service have truly been appropriate, beneficial, and felt by the community,” said Irjen Sandi to reporters.

Irjen Sandi highlighted that the focus of the Phase I Performance Audit for the 2026 Fiscal Year is directed towards risk-based planning and organisation. Therefore, all work units are asked to prepare planning documents in a realistic, meticulous, data-based manner, with clear linkages between targets, implementation, and desired outcomes.

In addition, Irjen Sandi reminded all unit heads and regional unit heads to pay serious attention to the audit process, strengthen internal controls, and use the audit as a momentum for collective evaluation and improvement. He also requested that the audit implementation be carried out professionally, objectively, and constructively to produce applicable recommendations that have a real impact on organisational strengthening.

Furthermore, Irjen Sandi invited all ranks to build a work culture oriented towards service and real benefits for the community. He emphasised that all forms of police duties are essentially good deeds that must be carried out correctly, earnestly, and with full responsibility.

“I invite all ranks to continue asking themselves: have we done good today? Because, essentially, police duties are good deeds if carried out correctly, earnestly, and providing real benefits to the community,” he asserted.

He hopes that all ranks will be increasingly ready to build professional, modern, and trusted organisational governance, while strengthening the presence of the Indonesian National Police that is increasingly felt to be beneficial by the community.
