A resident has reported a padel court construction project in the Kebayoran Lama area of South Jakarta, stating that the development has disturbed their peace and tranquillity.

“We at the South Jakarta Metropolitan Police have received a forwarded report from the Metro Police and have accepted it,” said Head of Public Relations at South Jakarta Metropolitan Police AKBP Murodih, as reported by Antara on Thursday, 26 February 2026.

Murodih stated that his team had conducted an inspection at the location on Jalan Kalimaya, Permata Hijau, Block A/20, RT 05 RW 09, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta. Police will subsequently request statements from witnesses for further investigation.

“We will also request statements from witnesses who might corroborate the complaint,” he said.

The report is documented in Police Report Number LP/B/863/II/2026/SPKT/POLDA METRO JAYA, dated 2 February 2026 at 18.37 WIB. The complaint began when on 25 December 2025, the resident discovered that a padel court construction project was being carried out in front of their house.

The resident complained about the padel court construction project, noting that work was frequently conducted until late at night. Feeling disturbed, the complainant subsequently wrote to the local subdistrict chief and mediation was attempted.

Despite being reported to the subdistrict office, the construction project continued to operate during night hours, even until dawn, thus disturbing environmental peace and tranquillity. Due to the situation, the complainant felt aggrieved and subsequently filed a report with the police.

The complainant reported the project managers with suspicion of violating Article 256 of Law No 1 of 2023 (the National Criminal Code), which provides penalties for organisers of processions, demonstrations, or protests on roads or public places without prior written notification, which results in disruption to public interests, unrest, or disorder. The penalty threatened is imprisonment of up to six months or a category II fine.
