Jakarta — South Jakarta’s Sub-Department of Works, Spatial Planning and Land (Citata) has warned the operators of a padel court facility located on Jalan Moh Kahfi I, RT 04/04, Cipedak Village, Jagakarsa District, not to damage or remove the seals and yellow lines that authorities have installed.

“We request that the seals and yellow lines that have been installed not be damaged or removed before the permit is issued,” said Andy Lazuardi, Head of South Jakarta’s Citata Sub-Department, in Jakarta on Monday.

Lazuardi stated that the seals and yellow tape were placed to temporarily halt all construction activities at the location until the permitting process is completed. Based on field inspections, the padel court construction has not obtained the required Building Permit (Persetujuan Bangunan Gedung, or PBG), necessitating a temporary suspension of construction work.

He emphasised that if the seals and yellow lines are damaged or removed before the permit is issued, his office will take further administrative action by resealing the site. “If it is violated again, we will certainly take additional administrative action with resealing,” he said.

Lazuardi noted that the sealing was necessary because the operators failed to comply with regulations despite receiving multiple warnings from officials previously. He urged the public to ensure all building permits have been issued before commencing any construction activities.

“As long as the permit has not been issued, construction work should not proceed. We urge the public to obtain permits before starting construction,” he stated.

According to records, South Jakarta’s administrative city government has identified 209 padel courts in the area. Of these, 105 units hold valid permits, whilst 104 units lack permits, and 120 padel courts have already faced enforcement action.
