South Jakarta Administration Enforces Padel Court Licensing and Asset Compliance
Jakarta — The South Jakarta municipal administration is ensuring compliance with licensing regulations and asset management for padel courts following complaints from residents.
“The important point that needs to be emphasised refers to the direction of Governor Pramono Anung in a previous leadership meeting. The main matters receiving attention include padel court issues concerning licensing and assets,” said South Jakarta Mayor Muhammad Anwar in a statement in Jakarta on Friday.
This statement responds to DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung, who discussed the regulation of padel court sports facility development during a limited meeting at DKI Jakarta City Hall on Tuesday (24 February).
Meanwhile, the South Jakarta Sub-Agency for Public Works, Spatial Planning, and Land Affairs (Sudin Citata) plans to seal padel court buildings that have been protested by residents on Jalan Haji Nawi, Cilandak, South Jakarta.
“Yes, we will take action in accordance with regulations and are currently coordinating with the agency,” said Head of South Jakarta Sudin Citata Andy Lazuardy when contacted.
Padel courts without Building Approval (PBG) will be subject to sanctions ranging from operational suspension, demolition, to cancellation of business permits.
Padel courts that possess PBG but are located in residential areas are urged to negotiate with the mayor and relevant departments, with an operational time limit being set.
Furthermore, all padel courts in residential areas, even if they have received PBG approval, can operate only until 20:00 WIB.
Additionally, if padel courts generate noise from bouncing balls or shouting that disturbs residents, soundproofing must be installed.
