Son of Ermanto Usman Confident His Father Was Murdered Due to Risky Employment
Bekasi – Fiandy A Putra (33), the eldest son of Ermanto Usman (65) and Pasmilawati (60), is convinced that the incident that befell his father in Jatibening, Pondok Gede, Bekasi City, was not merely a robbery, but rather a premeditated murder.
Ermanto had retired nine years ago from PT Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT), a subsidiary of Pelindo. “My father retired nine years ago from PT JICT, a subsidiary of Pelindo. What my father did is something we all knew together about what the risks were,” Putra told the media on Tuesday, 3 March 2026.
“Because my father tried to uncover the truth and prioritise the interests of all the workers in the field who are suffering,” Putra added.
The family’s suspicions intensified after discovering that the second floor of the house had not been ransacked. This is particularly significant given that Putra’s younger sister, Dinda Nada Alifah, who lived with their parents, was sleeping in a second-floor bedroom when the incident occurred.
“When checked by the police yesterday, the upstairs area was completely untouched. My sister also locks her door when she sleeps,” he said.
Several important family documents remained intact and in a safe location. However, some items were reported missing.
“The important items that my family and I know about were not taken by the perpetrator. Even though car keys were taken, what use are they if the car itself was not taken?” Putra questioned.
When discovered, his mother was still wearing her necklace. Information about missing gold bracelets was provided by his sister. “I hope my father died as a fighter, died as a martyr in the path of God,” he said.
Earlier, the Criminal Investigation Chief of Bekasi City Metro Police, Kompol Andi Muhammad Iqbal, stated that the victim’s youngest child, Dinda, last interacted with her parents around 22:00 WIB. “The victim’s child did not hear any disturbance. She went to sleep at 01:00 WIB and at that time there were still no sounds,” Andi said when met at the crime scene on Monday.
