Soeharto plans to launch expo

JAKARTA: President Soeharto is to open an exhibition of
products produced by poor families receiving subsidized credits,
Antara reported yesterday.

The exhibition will be held in Cilacap, Central Java, on April
17, State Minister of Population Haryono Suyono said Tuesday,
after witnessing representatives of several regencies sign an
agreement to improve people's welfare.

Haryono said the exhibition would promote partnerships between
poor families and small and medium businesses, and expand inter-
regency marketing networks.

The event will be sponsored by the National Family Planning
Board, the Ministry of Cooperatives and Small Enterprises and
family welfare groups.

He said the partnership program was expected to help poor
families supply raw materials to small and medium businesses.
