Jakarta (ANTARA) - Social Minister (Mensos) Saifullah Yusuf, alias Gus Ipul, along with Deputy Social Minister Agus Jabo Priyono and their entourage, visited the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to discuss the procurement of goods and services in the ministry, particularly for the People’s School programme. Gus Ipul arrived around 09:32 WIB, while Agus Jabo arrived at 09:13 WIB. “This is a consultation; we’re seeking advice while also reporting on the developments in the procurement of goods and services at the Ministry of Social Affairs,” said Gus Ipul at the KPK’s Red and White Building in Jakarta on Friday. He further stated that they had not prepared anything special for the meeting with KPK officials. “However, we will convey everything related to the procurement of goods and services within the Ministry of Social Affairs, and at the same time, we will seek advice, input, criticism, and suggestions, as we are currently beginning the implementation of procurement for 2026,” he said. He then expressed that he does not want President Prabowo Subianto’s strategic programmes, such as the People’s School, to be tainted by corrupt practices. “Therefore, from the outset, we have declared openness and reported everything we have done to the public as well as to auditing institutions such as the Financial Audit Board (BPK) or the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP), and also non-governmental institutions to monitor and help oversee the implementation of procurement of goods and services within the Ministry of Social Affairs,” he stated. According to the Social Minister, the meeting with the KPK will cover all data and processes related to the procurement of goods for the operations of the People’s School, including the procurement of shoes for People’s School students, which had recently become a topic of discussion on social media. The Social Minister said the meeting was initially scheduled for Thursday. However, the KPK indicated that the agenda might not take place on Thursday.
