Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Minister of Social Affairs (Mensos), Saifullah Yusuf, stated that his office is prepared to take firm action against subordinates and employees proven to have committed violations during the implementation of work from home (WFH). “Discipline and integrity without compromise. Violations will certainly be dealt with firmly,” the Minister told reporters after attending the Socialisation of Work Culture Transformation at the Ministry of Social Affairs office in Jakarta on Monday. On the same occasion, the Minister, affectionately known as Gus Ipul, reminded that leaders of work units (satker) in the Ministry of Social Affairs are the ones who determine the success of WFH effectiveness. “Work unit leaders determine the success of WFH effectiveness, ensure outputs, maintain work rhythm, and at the same time provide examples,” said Gus Ipul. Furthermore, to support the optimisation of WFH implementation, the Ministry of Social Affairs apparatus will prepare a precise, user-friendly, and integrated digital work ecosystem. He affirmed his commitment to realising the motto “Efficient Ministry, Excellent Service.” In addition to striving for WFH to become a productive work medium, Gus Ipul conveyed that the Ministry of Social Affairs is also determined to orient work towards impact, not just activities. “There should be no, absolutely no activities without output. So I repeat once again, everything must be oriented towards impact, not just activities,” he said. Previously, the government officially implemented a work-from-home policy or WFH for civil servants (ASN) every Friday. The Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, stated that the policy will take effect from 1 April 2026 and will be evaluated after two months of implementation. “The implementation of work from home for ASN in central and regional agencies, carried out for one working day per week, namely every Friday, regulated through a circular letter (SE) from the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform and an SE from the Minister of Home Affairs,” said Airlangga.
