Social Affairs Minister Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul) has affirmed that the government will not reduce the allocation for subsidised health insurance membership under the Penerima Bantuan Iuran Jaminan Kesehatan (PBI JK) programme. The health insurance subsidy quota will remain in place for 96.8 million people.

“The PBI allocation is not being reduced — it remains for 96.8 million beneficiaries. The allocation stays the same, but it is being redirected to those who meet the criteria according to established standards,” said Gus Ipul when met at the BPS office in Central Jakarta on Thursday (19 February 2026).

He explained that the government’s current approach involves updating data through a ground-check process. This is being done to ensure that assistance from the state budget (APBN) is properly targeted.

Gus Ipul added that the data updating process is being conducted through two channels. The first is a formal channel through data collection from the RT/RW (neighbourhood association) level, village deliberations, and social affairs offices, which is then processed by BPS using the SIK-NG (Social Welfare Information System Next Generation) application.

The second channel is through public participation. Residents can take part by reporting or disputing data through the ‘Cek Bansos’ application, the DTSEN feature, the Command Centre at 021-171, and the WhatsApp Centre at 08877171171.

“I invite the entire public to participate in the data updating process, naturally by attaching important supporting materials for follow-up. For example, photographs of KPM (Beneficiary Family) or prospective KPM assets, electricity tokens, and possibly other assets that can serve as primary sources for conducting ground checks,” he said.

Two-Phase Ground Check

At the same event, Head of the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti explained that the ground-check data process would be carried out in two phases.

“The first phase will begin shortly, as today marks the launch. Training will be conducted tomorrow, fieldwork will commence next week, and we will complete it by 14 March 2026,” said Amalia.

“This first ground-check phase will cover 106,153 individuals, or approximately 104,000 families,” she added.

Meanwhile, the second phase will be carried out after the Eid holiday, specifically from 1 April 2026 for one month. The second phase targets a much larger number — approximately 11 million individuals, or 5.9 million families.
