Jakarta – The President Director of PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BBTN), commonly known as BTN, Nixon LP Napitupulu reported that the bank successfully generated a net profit of Rp 230 billion in January 2026.

With growth reaching 578 per cent year-on-year compared to Rp 34 billion in January 2025 (bank only), Nixon expressed optimism that the bank will achieve a net profit increase of up to 22 per cent by the end of this year.

According to him, this optimism is aligned with the company’s increasingly healthy balance sheet, supported by strategies beyond mortgage lending (beyond KPR), superapp development, and transformation across various business lines.

“We are optimistic that this year’s performance will improve further as the company continues its transformation and innovation initiatives,” Nixon stated in his remarks on Wednesday, 25 February 2026.

He added that the increase in net profit for January 2026 was driven by interest income growth of 17.08 per cent year-on-year. Furthermore, interest expenses were successfully reduced, declining by 14.53 per cent year-on-year.

Through this strategy, BTN recorded net interest income (NII) growth of 79.46 per cent year-on-year. On the funding side, BTN’s third-party funds (DPK) grew 11.52 per cent year-on-year to Rp 362.77 trillion as of January 2026.

On the intermediation front, credit disbursement increased by 9.30 per cent year-on-year to Rp 341.45 trillion during the same period. This performance also boosted BTN’s total assets, which grew 12.26 per cent year-on-year to Rp 448.34 trillion as of January 2026.

In the previous year, BTN’s consolidated net profit growth reached 16.4 per cent year-on-year, amounting to Rp 3.5 trillion.

The company is strengthening profitability by improving business processes in credit disbursement and portfolio management, which have resulted in faster growth. This is complemented by consistent efforts to obtain lower-cost funding.

BTN has also implemented its major corporate initiative, namely the establishment of a subsidiary, Bank Syariah Nasional (BSN). As of the end of last year, BSN’s total assets reached Rp 73 trillion, representing a 20.5 per cent year-on-year increase.
