SMAN 8 Jakarta Selatan claimed first place in the Four Pillars Quiz Competition (LCC) of the MPR RI 2026 at the provincial level for the Special Capital Region of Jakarta. This victory strengthens their position as the best representative from the Special Capital Region of Jakarta to advance to the national level.

Wachid Nugroho, Head of the Bureau of Deliberations and Constitutional Socialisation of the MPR RI Secretariat General, announced the win following the intense final round held at the Novotel Ballroom in Jakarta on Saturday (25/4).

In the final round, SMAN 8 Jakarta Selatan amassed the highest score of 125 points, surpassing SMAN 48 Jakarta Timur with 105 points and SMAN 81 Jakarta Timur with 70 points.

“As a member of the judging panel, I am immensely proud. The students have articulated the MPR RI’s Four Pillars exceptionally well. Their internalisation is outstanding; now it remains to apply it in daily life as a guide for nation-building and statehood. I pray that all these students here can become future leaders of Indonesia,” Wachid stated on Sunday (26/4/2026).

On the same occasion, Muhammad Hoerudin Amin, Deputy Chair of the MPR RI Socialisation Agency, underscored the importance of understanding the four pillars of nationality in building future generations with character and love for the homeland.

He also conveyed that learning about Pancasila, the 1945 UUD NRI, the NKRI, and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika encompasses various aspects of knowledge, from history and culture to national philosophy.

According to him, such understanding forms a crucial foundation so that society not only knows but also loves and preserves the nation’s continuity.

Furthermore, Hoerudin emphasised that the LCC event is part of the process of forming young cadres who love the nation and state, while also encouraging a culture of historical and national literacy.

“This LCC is part of the process of presenting future cadres whose hearts, minds, and creativity are alive to bring this nation to glory,” he added.

Meanwhile, Ismail Permata Yorsandhi, one of the participants from SMAN 8 Jakarta Selatan, shared positive impressions from participating in the event. He described it as a fun, exciting, and educational experience, particularly in deepening knowledge of nationalism.

“We have a better understanding of the four national pillars. The other participants were friendly, and the facilities were very supportive,” he said.

However, during preparation, Ismail admitted facing several challenges, especially in balancing school activities and LCC training. The importance of time management to maximise future preparations.

Looking ahead to the national competition, Ismail hopes to increase training intensity and team coordination. He also plans to create a more structured preparation schedule to avoid conflicts with other activities.

“We hope to perform better prepared at the national level by increasing practice and managing time more effectively,” he added.

Similar sentiments were expressed by Muslicha, the accompanying teacher who provided special dispensation for students to focus on the competition. Nevertheless, training progress was not always formally displayed, as the approach used was flexible and comprehensive.

“The biggest challenge usually comes from mental factors, especially when students feel afraid or when their practice scores drop,” she revealed.

To address this, Muslicha stated that students remain involved in various training forms, including question packages and exam simulations.

She also expressed being deeply impressed by the implementation of this MPR Four Pillars LCC. The competition was joined by accomplished students from across Jakarta, creating a competitive yet inspiring atmosphere.

“Alhamdulillah, I am grateful to guide two students to represent DKI Jakarta at the national level,” she said.
