JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Commissioner of the State Housing Savings Management Agency (BP Tapera), Heru Pudyo Nugroho, has responded to statements by Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa regarding the Financial Services Information System (SLIK) of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) not being the main barrier to the distribution of subsidised home ownership credit (KPR).

According to Heru, BP Tapera plays a role in verifying data for prospective beneficiaries through an electronic-based system.

“The electronic-based financing ecosystem is managed by us at BP Tapera. Regarding requirements such as income statements or proof of not owning a home, we carry out the verification process,” he explained at the OJK office in Jakarta on Monday (13/4/2026).

Heru added that the verification process is conducted in a simple and non-complicated manner. If invalid data is found, it will be returned for correction.

He also revealed that BP Tapera had previously coordinated with the Ministry of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP) and developer associations to gather data on field-level obstacles.

“Under the coordination of the Minister, we have asked developer associations to provide data, then we analyse it and report to OJK. And now there is a very good decision that developers have been waiting for,” said Heru.

Previously, the issue of SLIK as a hindrance to KPR access had also come under scrutiny.

Purbaya assessed that the difficulty for the public in obtaining credit is not solely caused by SLIK.

“It seems that it’s not just the OJK SLIK that prevents them from getting credit,” Purbaya said at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs office in Jakarta on Wednesday (26/11/2025).

He mentioned that even though certain collectibility classifications in SLIK have been removed, the problem of bad debts may not necessarily be resolved.

The government plans to conduct further studies to identify the root causes of the problem, including the possibility of weak demand.
