Sleman to publish performance report

YOGYAKARTA: The Sleman regency administration has made a breakthrough in upholding transparency and accountability as it plans to publish performance reports of the administration in the mass media.

Regent Ibnu Subiyanto said earlier this week that the reports to be published were the regency budget realization report, the balance sheet of payments and the cash flow financial reports.

Speaking at a budget review meeting held here on Monday as preparation for the publication of the reports, Ibnu said that the plan was to provide people, including potential investors, assurance that transparency was upheld in Sleman's government.

"With the published reports hopefully we will give them the confidence that it is safe to invest here," Ibnu said, adding that three local newspapers with national circulation, and an English daily had been chosen to publish the reports.

Speaking at the same forum head of Sleman's Regional Treasury and Financial Management Agency Nogati Sri Karyati said that the Yogyakarta office of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) had audited the reports. --JP
