Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Special Task Force for the Implementation of Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) states that the realisation of oil lifting throughout 2025 reached 606,000 barrels per day (bpd), exceeding the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) target of 605,000 bpd.

Head of SKK Migas Djoko Siswanto said the achievement serves as capital to pursue the 2026 oil lifting (ready-to-sell production) target of 610,000 bpd.

“The realisation of oil production for 2025 is 606,000 barrels per day or 1,000 above the APBN target,” said Djoko during a hearing with Commission VII of the House of Representatives (DPR RI) in Jakarta on Wednesday.

He explained that the government continues to strive for a gradual increase in oil and gas production throughout this year to achieve that target.

In the oil sector, additional production is projected to reach around 5,256 barrels per day, while additional gas production is about 227,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.

Djoko mentioned that the realisation of oil and natural gas (migas) production up to March 2026 shows an increase after experiencing disruptions at the beginning of the year.

Those disruptions included the rupture of the Trans Gas Indonesia (TGI) pipeline on 2 January, which hindered gas supply for power plants in the Rokan region.

“January dropped because the TGI pipeline ruptured on 2 January, so it could not supply gas for power plants,” he said.

He added that the TGI pipeline condition has now been repaired, although there are still some points that require attention.

In addition, SKK Migas recorded available reserves of ready-to-produce oil at 2.56 million barrels and ready-to-transport stock of around 430,000 barrels.

With that support, migas production in March 2026 was able to be increased to around 635,500 barrels per day.

Djoko said several upstream migas projects that will start operating (on stream) in 2026 are expected to boost national production.

Some of those projects include field developments in the Pertamina Hulu Rokan (PHR) region, the polymer project, and several projects in other working areas.

In addition, the Mahakam (PHM) gas development project, which involves building six platforms, is estimated to increase gas production to around 120 million standard cubic feet per day.
