Six or five school day?

From Suara Karya

The government has introduced a five-day work week, allowing weekends off. This regulation naturally also alters the work hours. Several offices have already begun to implement the new regulation on a trial basis. Some schools have followed the example.

Of course we all know that schools are institutions designed to implant knowledge into the brains of human beings -- students. This means that schools deal with beings possessing feelings of boredom, sleepiness etc. Is it possible for students to absorb knowledge when they are tired and sleepy or when it is too hot?

According to the accepted theory, teaching for two hours six times a week is better than four times a week for three hours, although this is still better than for six hours twice a week. Knowledge is best absorbed if given little by little at an easy pace.

I would suspect that schools teaching five days a week will not perform better than those teaching six days a week. It would be advisable for schools to study if a five-day or a six-day week is better.
