Six Candidates Vie to Become Chairman of PKB Bandung Regency
The PKB branch conference in Bandung Regency has produced six potential candidates for the position of district chairman for the 2026-2031 period.
The forum, held in Soreang on Wednesday (8/4), serves as a strategic moment for the party led by Muhaimin Iskandar to strengthen its organisational structure ahead of upcoming political contests.
Plenary Secretary HM Sidqon revealed that the six names are the best cadres emerging from grassroots aspirations. These names will subsequently be submitted to the PKB Central Executive Board for definitive decision.
“The six names emerging from this conference will be brought to the Central Board for determination. Regarding the results, they are likely to be announced next month,” he stated.
The six names in the running for PKB Bandung Regency leadership are Dadang Supriatna (incumbent DPC chairman), Tarya Witarsa (DPC secretary), Reni Rahayu Fauzi (Bandung Regency DPRD chairman), Hadiat (DPC treasurer), Ahmad Sahrudin (DPC executive), and Dudi Mustopa (DPRD member).
Responding to his name re-entering the fray, Dadang Supriatna emphasised that he fully entrusts the selection mechanism to the central leadership.
“For the DPC chairman position, we leave it entirely to the general chairman. We in the regions will always comply and align with Gus Muhaimin’s instructions,” stated the Bandung Regent.
He also expressed optimism about bringing PKB back to prominence in the 2029 elections.
Seat Gains
PKB Deputy General Chairman Jazilul Fawaid, who directly opened the event, stressed that whoever is elected will face a heavy task.
The Central Board has set an ambitious target for the PKB Bandung Regency DPC to increase its legislative seats from 12 to at least 16 to 20.
“Bandung Regency is a strong base. If the increase is only one seat, that’s not enough. Our target is at least 16, even 20 seats if possible,” he said.
In addition to electoral targets, Jazilul conveyed two main mandates from General Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar. “Go down to the people, strengthen social services through ambulances, health posts, and real actions in the field,” he asserted.
Furthermore, according to him, the ‘class upgrade’ programme involving human resource capacity building and cadre development must be carried out. “This is important so that PKB cadres are competent not only in politics but also professional in other sectors,” he said.
