Six Australians Lost Rp12 Billion
TEMPO Interactive, Mataram: Four Australians who planned to invest in hotels in West Nusa Tenggara were deceived. They were to buy land in Sekotong, West Lombok Regency. Attorney Muhammad Taufik Budiman yesterday accompanied Paul Frederick Robson, Deborah Cynthia, Michael Edward Gadsby, Valerie Ann Gadsby, Anthony Stephen Hadgkinson, and Linda Rae Morrison to NTB regional police.
They were deceived by their partners, called Iba, in Mataram. It turned out that the land still belongs to the locals. “We will report this to the Indonesian Police Headquarters if the regional police here cannot solve it,” said Taufik. Iba’s lawyer Muchtar M. Saleh said they do not know anything about the matter.
