Six arrested for attacking bus

BANDAR LAMPUNG, Lampung: Police have arrested six of about 15 people who attacked passengers of a minibus. One person was killed during the attack and several others injured.

Lampung police chief Col. Endang Suwanda said yesterday that security forces were still tracking the rest, whose identities are known.

The incident happened on Sunday when more than a dozen angry people attacked the chartered bus and its passengers after the vehicle hit a four-year-old child in an accident, Antara reported.

Women on the bus were attacked and robbed. The police described the incident as "tragic." One of the victims, identified as Mrs. Etik, died after a hospital refused to admit her because she could not pay in advance for any treatment. (pan)
