Six airlines certified

JAKARTA (JP): Six chartered airlines have won the Air Operator Certificate from the Directorate General of Air Transportation.

The six airlines, PT Air Pacific, PT Aneka Nuri, PT Bali Air, PT Intan Angkasa Air Service, PT Trans Air and PT Travia Utama, received the certificates Monday from Secretary of the Directorate General of Air Transportation Matondang.

Deputy director of flight operations Christian Bisara said yesterday that the government had assessed several items in reviewing the airlines.

"Among others, they have to have maintenance plans, training programs, and financial soundness to purchase necessary spare parts," he said.

He said that any airline having won such a certificate was always under continuous surveillance. (icn)
