Singh hangs on to 2-stroke lead

MANILA (AFP): India's Jeev Milkha Singh Saturday maintained his two-stroke lead over compatriot Arjun Atwal after both players carded even-par 72s in the third round of the Omega Tour's US$200,OOO Philippine Classic.

Singh fired four birdies and four bogeys over the Sta Elena layout to finish with a six-under-par 210 aggregate, while Atwal shot a bogey and a birdie either side of the turn to stay four under, one ahead of Thailand's Preecha Senaprom who posted a one- under-par 71.

Although both players struggled with the putter on the small and fast greens, Atwal had the better start to the day and drew level with a six-foot birdie at the fourth following Singh's birdey at the third.
