Singer's killer at large
Singer's killer at large
JAKARTA (JP): The police are still hunting the killer of a
local rock singer in East Jakarta.
A detective from the Pulo Gadung police sub-precinct said
yesterday that the police believe the killer is Slamet, a known
hoodlum in the area.
"The suspect has been involved in many car accessory thefts,"
he said.
According to the singer's sister, Yuniarti, the 20-year-old
Afrizal warned Slamet not to make trouble in the neighborhood.
This apparently caused great offense.
Afrizal was with two friends, identified as Jonson and Syarif,
when the incident occurred.
The witnesses said Slamet stabbed Afrizal with a sickle in the
arms and stomach. Afrizal died on the way to the Cipto
Mangunkusumo general hospital.
Yuniarti said Afrizal, who graduated from high school two
years ago, had planned to register himself in the Military
Academy.
Afrizal, a resident of Jl. Kebon Nangka, east Jakarta, had
made money from singing in a local rock band. (04)
