Singapore Offers Scholarships and Internships for Young Indonesian Talent
Indonesian youth’s interest in entering the international arena, whether through education or career paths, has shown a significant upward trend. In response to this enthusiasm, the Singapore Chamber of Commerce Indonesia (SingCham Indonesia) held the SingCham Uplifting Talkshow: Singapore Education & Career Journey on Saturday, 23 May at AONE Hotel in Central Jakarta.
The event, part of the SingCham Uplifting Scholarship 2026 series, was organised by Kinobi AI with full support from Singapore Global Network (SGN).
Around 100 participants, including students, fresh graduates, and young professionals from Jabodetabek and Bandung, attended to explore opportunities in the global ecosystem.
Shoeb Kagda, Chairman of SingCham Indonesia, emphasised that the scholarship programme is designed holistically, offering not just financial support but also real work experience.
‘Our focus is not just on financial aid. We integrate internships so scholarship recipients can experience global work culture firsthand at Singaporean companies operating in Indonesia. This is key to building international collaboration skills in an increasingly connected world,’ said Shoeb.
In line with this, Patrina Lim, Market Director of Singapore Global Network, highlighted that investing in young talent is the foundation of the decades-long bilateral relationship between Indonesia and Singapore.
Hafiz Kasman, Co-Founder and CEO of Kinobi AI, expressed admiration for the current quality of Indonesian youth, noting that many students already have strong portfolios before graduation.
‘Indonesia has great potential to produce talents capable of competing regionally and globally. Their enthusiasm and internship experience are key assets in facing future industry competition,’ Hafiz stated.
The talkshow featured various experts providing comprehensive guidance to participants. A summary of the sessions and materials presented is as follows:
