Kuala Lumpur — Sekolah Indonesia Kuala Lumpur (SIKL) held a graduation ceremony for graduates of SIKL and the Non-Formal Education Program (PNF) at the Hassanuddin Hall of the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur. The ceremony took place over two days: Saturday (23 May) for SIKL graduates and Sunday (24 May) for PNF graduates.

The event was attended by Indonesian Ambassador to Malaysia Dato’ Mohammad Iman Hascarya Kusumo, Deputy Ambassador Danang Waskito, Education Attaché R. Ahmad Romadhoni Surya Putra, PhD, Indonesian diplomats in Malaysia, KBRI Kuala Lumpur Women’s Council, School Committee, SIKL teachers, Sanggar Bimbingan managers, and all parents and guardians of the graduates.

“I am delighted to see the graduates from Sekolah Indonesia Kuala Lumpur and PKBM KBRI Kuala Lumpur, who are predominantly children of Indonesian migrant workers,” said Ambassador Iman during his speech at the event in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday (23 May).

SIKL graduates included 26 preschool students, 34 primary school students, 68 junior high school students, and 42 senior high school students. Non-Formal Education Program graduates comprised 14 students from PKBM Distance Learning Level A, 43 from Level B, and 7 from PKBM Level C, along with 175 Sanggar Bimbingan graduates across Peninsular Malaysia.

Ambassador Iman stated that the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur, through the Education Attaché, will continue to provide maximum attention to the education of Indonesian children in Malaysia.

The ceremony also announced top graduates from SIKL and PNF across all education levels, as well as students who had successfully gained admission to Indonesian universities and children of migrant workers who passed the ADEM Repatriation Scholarship selection.

The graduation ceremony was enlivened by performances from SIKL students and Sanggar Bimbingan.
