Sidewalk stalls

I am indebted to the Central Jakarta mayor who ordered the
removal of illegal structures on riverbanks and of the eateries
which occupied sidewalks along Jl. Dr. Wahidin behind the
Ministry of Finance.

However, the eateries were a great help to employees of the
offices in the vicinity who took their breakfast and lunch there.
At night the shacks were used by the owners as a dwelling place.

Nowadays the scenery is unsightly because the people use
emergency tents.

It would be good, I think, if the Central Jakarta mayor work
in conjunction with the finance ministry to set up stalls in the
office compound, as is practiced by the offices on Jl. Thamrin.
